Letters from Santa Claus in Braille

Sometimes, “it takes more than seeing to believe.”

Santa’s Braille Workshop is closed.
Please join us next November for Santa Reads Braille 2025.

We’re Santa’s special helpers.

Does Santa read braille? Of course, he does! And we help him out during this busy time of year by embossing his letters to kids.

Parents, teachers, and friends: There’s no cost to you. Just let us know who the letter is for and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll even postmark the letter as shipped from the North Pole! We’ve made Santa’s words more accessible to people with a visual impairment by converting them to braille and including a large print copy.

Why letters from Santa?

We want to be on his Good List, of course! It’s also an opportunity for us to do something special for kids during the Christmas season. If you have kids of your own, you already know Christmas is magical and everyone deserves to feel that magic. We’d love to shatter the notion that only ‘seeing is believing’ and bring to life the idea that every child deserves a letter from Santa Claus. Everyone can feel the spirit of Christmas and, sometimes, it takes more than seeing to believe.

Here at Braille Works, we also understand the fun side of Christmas. Santa and his elves, flying reindeer, stockings hung by the chimney, and a host of other traditions. These are wondrous things that bring smiles and laughter to children around the world. In fulfilling our mission toward Making the World a More Readable Place™, we are honored to bring Santa Reads Braille to children who are blind or visually impaired.

A letter from Santa brings a little more of that Christmas wonder to your child. At the same time, a letter in braille is a great way to encourage and develop their braille reading skills.

We would love to hear from you so we can send your child a braille letter from Santa. We ask that only families who have a child who is blind or visually impaired take part. Teachers of students who read braille are also encouraged to submit requests.

“The best things in life cannot be seen or even touched,
they must be felt with the heart.” – Helen Keller

This is part of who we are.

Another reason we want to do this is that we see Santa Reads Braille as a way for us to express God’s love to you and your child in a tangible way.

Luke 2:10-11 “And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.’”

Thank you for participating in Santa Reads Braille and have a blessed Christmas Season.

Letter #1

Ho, ho, ho!

I hope you are excited for Christmas!

Writing to you in braille is fun. Did you know that most people do not know how to read braille? That makes us special. We know that reading and writing are very important for school and the rest of our lives.

Are you enjoying all of the Christmas fun? I hear you have been decorating, singing carols, and even making yummy treats. That is great! The elves are working hard to make sure Christmas is full of joy and surprises just for you.

Remember, Christmas is not just about presents. It is about sharing love and kindness with the people around you. I know you have a big heart, and that makes me very happy.

Wishing you the happiest, jolliest Christmas ever!

Merry Christmas,

Santa Claus

Letter #2

Merry Christmas,

Christmas is almost here! I hope you are as excited as I am.

Mrs. Claus and I have been singing Christmas carols with the elves. The North Pole is full of Christmas music! Do you have a favorite Christmas song? I bet you sing it well.

I hear you have been doing a great job learning braille. Tabby the Elf, who also reads braille, loves practicing just like you! She is so proud of your hard work.

The reindeer are ready to fly soon, and I cannot wait to stop at your house to bring Christmas cheer.

Remember to keep being kind to everyone around you. That is the best part of Christmas!

With warmest wishes and a belly full of cookies,

Santa Claus

Letter #3

Greetings from the North Pole!

The reindeer are getting ready for their big trip around the world. Mrs. Claus is busy baking delicious desserts. Do you have any favorite Christmas treats? Christmas cookies are my favorite.

I saw your name on the nice list again. I was not surprised, but seeing your name still made me smile.

I know you have a very kind heart, and that is the best gift you can share with others. Whether helping a friend, showing kindness to someone, or simply making your family smile, you are spreading Christmas magic every day.

With warm wishes and a Ho, Ho, Ho!

Santa Claus

Letter #4

Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas!

I am so excited that Christmas is almost here! The North Pole is busy with all the elves making toys, and the reindeer are getting ready for our big night. Rudolph is ready with his shiny red nose to help us fly through the snow.

Remember to leave out cookies for me and a little treat for the reindeer. They love carrots!

Have you decorated for Christmas? It is so much fun putting up the tree or singing songs. Mrs. Claus and I love singing Christmas carols at the North Pole. It is so much fun!

Christmas is all about having fun and spending time with your family. I hope you enjoy every moment, and I cannot wait to stop by on Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas,

Santa Claus
